Louise Turner does not really know who she is. She is a painter and photographer and proof-reader of amongst other things, post-graduate theses written by people in a language not their own. She lives in Brighton and has done so for a long time. She says that in her photography she wishes to take a stand against the fleeting nature of time. To capture a moment and share it with another, asking 'Do you see what I see on the other side of this image?'
She says that words, written and spoken, are often not fit for purpose when it comes to conveying anything that is truly worth saying. Which is a strange thing for someone to say whose stock in trade is often words. Instead catch a moment in time. She says that she seeks to harness her creative energy to push against boundaries she sets for herself. Which is a strange thing to do. Given that she does not really know who she is.
